On Saturday, my son and I went to the gas station to get some lawn
mower gas and fill up the '57 3200. No. 1 Son had been playing with
the door handle on his side and put it in the locked position. On
the way out of the truck, he must have bumped the inside latch on
the other side too. Net result, locked out of the truck at the gas
station.
The only way to get it open without damaging anything was to put
a coat hanger wire through the rubber around the rear window and
pull the inside latch back to free it.
Looking through the owner's manual and service manual, apparently
this is the way it is supposed to work. The external key will appparently
not open it if it is locked inside.
Now my question. Is there a way to disable the inside latch lock
on the side with the key lock? I don't mind locking the door with
the key on that side. The door is dead stock.
