If you have shimmy or wander it is most likely caused by wrong caster. Get a
bunch of shims and experiment. To do larger than 3/4 ton king pins you need
the proper reamer for the brass bushings. This will ream both brass bushings
at once, for perfect alignment. If you ream one end at a time with a
conventional adjustable reamer, you will end up with play, but if careful, it
will be minimum. Greasability is very important. If pins are too tight,
they don't take grease and steering gets very tight in a few years. So
leaving king pins on the loose side isn't so bad. I suggest you work on
caster per shop manual before doing king pins.
