I am putting together the best combination of the Advanced Design years in
the way of steering functions. A 1955 1st series column/gearbox was needed
to add the original equipment self canceling turn signals. I came across the
turn signal assembly and then discovered it would be difficult to use the
original 1950 column. Also, the wheel itself is different to accomodate the
bezel for the original turn signals. So, I traded a transmission for a good
steering column/gearbox/wheel and now I am ready to overhaul the
gearbox/column before I install it in the truck.
I purchased a gearbox rebuild kit from Chevy Duty and am getting ready to do
the job. Has anyone done this before and what problems did you encounter?
Thanks for any help!
