Bill,
Your truck is correct with only one keyed handle on the drivers side.
My 59 GMC is the same way, and my
dads 57 Chevy truck was also that way. The thinking by
the car and truck makers was to make you get out of the vehicle on the curb
side and not into traffic. This would work if you were alone but if you had
a passenger that
can throw the handle forward for you after you got out
then it sort of defeats their plan. I decided to leave
mine as original as my wife is usually with me whenever the truck is driven,
but it can be a pain if you are
alone.
