I just put the cable in a vise to hold it and used a disc grinder to
carefully cut thru the outer sheath. Then I reinstalled it and cut off
the excess inner wire with wire cutters. You could cut the outer sheath
with a good hacksaw if you were real careful not to cut thru the inner
wire.
