yes, 3800 series is 1 ton. 04, i believe, is to do with the pickup bed.
at one point this truck worked for AAA and was a tow truck. another point
in it's life seems as though it was a railroad truck. most recently it was
a farm truck. that could explain a different spring or other minor
differences. i am not planning to be a stickler for perfection. i want a
useful and usable machine. right now the major feature it that it is _MY_
truck ;-) that is the best part in my opinion.
