[oletrucks] registration plate

I was on a farm junk yard yesterday, and found five old  plates, a 48 50, 39,
56 and a 53 for my 53 five window ad.  They are rusted and not good shape.
How do you find out what the original colors were and are they worth more in
this condition or redone.
