I know you're looking for the most accurate calibration for your
speedometer, but thought I'd share my method. I have original gauges, and
because of the higher speed rear end and big tires, my speedometer was
considerably off. I got behind my wife's mini-van, both of us with cell
phones, and compared speeds in increments of 10 MPH. Turns out that I just
have to add 40% to what the needle says. So when I want to go 50, I drive
"35." When the needle says 42, I'm going 60. After awhile, it just comes
natural. I do the same to determine 3000 miles between oil changes.
