Say all,
Under the bed of my '50 3100 is a slotted channel headed southward as I
travel north. It angles downward at about 10 - 15 degrees. What other parts
do I need to make this fulfill its original purpose. I recently put a new
set of Uniroyal Blackwall AWP, 235/75/R15's and would like to get a spare.
Thanks to all who helped me decide on the tires to purchase. She really
rides nice. I honed the right rear wheel cylinder and put a new kit in it to
stop a small leak. Everything went pretty smoothly after busting the drum
loose. The only slight, very small, nearly insignificant detail that I
overlooked was getting the pistons placed in the proper direction. I had
mine bass ackwards of course. I wondered why the drum was so difficult to
get back on. After sleeping on it, I realized what I had done and corrected
it the next morning in very short order.
My next little goal is to get the bleeder screw out of the left rear.
Right now it is very rounded off and I will probably have to tap it out.
Since there is already a hole through it, that little job shouldn't be too
difficult.
The cab is leaning due to a rusted out floor. I'm patching the floor
until next year, when I have a shop set up. It's getting a little cold for
outside work and the shade is nearly all off of the trees. Where would be
the best places to jack the cab in order to get a block between it and the
frame? Directly and gently under the rear of the front fenders?
Also, could someone give me a rundown for converting my stop lights and
parking lights for turnsignals? I think, I'd like to use a toggle switch
under dash. Can you get a toggle switch similar to the one on my motor cycle
that is center off left for left turn and right for right turn? Where does
the flasher go in the mix? Can these items be had at the FLAPS cheaper than
buying a kit from one of the Old Truck suppliers? Thanks.
