  As posted use the rope on the windshield. Also plenty of lubricant. The shop
manual explains it pretty well. I actually found the windshield relatively easy
compared to the back. If the gasket doesn't go over the pinch weld in places you
can go back with a bondo spreader cut in a vee or hook shape and work it over.
  I've heard of gluing the felt seals on. Instead  I took the old ones and used
them as templates to drill holes in the new. Then formed and installed staples
from stiff stainless wire by hand (pliers).
   I transferred the clips to the new cushioned track from the old ones. I
riveted mine on with small solid rivets. Have heard of people using tiny screws
also.
