Early this afternoon the wife, kids and I went shopping, I hate shopping!
Well on the way to the mall, I hate malls even more, the wife and I started
talking about an ole trucks get together with members of the list. The
small town we live in here in Wisconsin holds a "Salute to the Trucking
Industry" called Truckers Jamboree the second weekend of August every year.
It's really geared for the big rigs, but any truck is welcomed and I've
been in the parade a couple of times over the past 6 years. There are
bands, beer, a late night light parade, beer, a 4 hour + long parade on
Saturday, a dance, beer, demonstrations, and did I mention Beer? I'm
thinking that we could set something up for us, a corner of the event to
show off our trucks, get to know each other, and have some fun together. I
can check into camping spaces for those that want to camp, hotels, or even
put up a few here if we have to. Just a thought for all of us to ponder
today. Let me know what you all think about it. We could even give some
prizes for the best looking truck, the best "Soon to be best looking truck"
the ones we're working on yet, and one for the furtherst traveled. I'm out
for that one. And of course all the judging should be done by us!
