I have located a '55 235. The casting number is a less common 3836233 (the
more common number I find in the inliners & other casting references is
3836223). The "33" casting number refers to it is 04/01/56. The casting
serial number is 03I#### F55Z (#### being the sequence in manufacture).
This tells me it was a Flint motor made in 55 and used in passenger cars &
sedan delivery's, but with standard trannies, so is not hydraulic lifters.
What does the 04/01/56 mean (other than, maybe, introduced on April 1 of
'56; which, BTW is a Sunday)?
Different starter mounting & cam has been suggested by Butler engine
rebuilders (GA). I've already bought the engine, but want to know how
"oddball" it might be & what I need to watch out for. TIA.
