i have a 57 chevy,. i got the plastic kickpanels with the build in A/C
vents, took out the chrome ball, and mounted 1" rockford fosgate tweeters in
them,. then, i made two 16ga. metal plates that match the size and shape of
each vent in the kick panels, i cut a 4" hole and mounted a 4" rockford
fosgate mid-bass sub in them. i then installed the metal speaker plate, and
factory grill in the vent openings (yes, they fit with all the original vent
hardware and flap in place) it gives a good look, you cant tell theres any
speakers at all behind the stock vent grills and the tweeters dont stand out
either.
