Hi Jack,
I used a piece of brass tubing like you find in the hardware store displays
that have round, square and sheet of various sizes. I slipped it on the
shaft and squeezed it with pliers to get the flat side. Works great.
I needed this conversion for the switch to my electric windshield wipers.
