When I bought my 57 GMC it had 6 lug 15x8 Rallys from a late 70's
Chevy 4x4. The tires were 255x70. With a heavy load in the bed
the outer surface of the rear tires made contact with the lip
around the wheel cut-out of the fenders. Changing to 235x75 tires
reduced the width enough that it no longer makes contact while
maintaining the original height of the tire.
