I'm thinking there might be a day when I might want to hear some tunes
(Commander Cody's "We've Got a Live One Here!" comes to mind) instead of
listening and diagnosing every nuance of sound coming from my truck. Even
though the drive train and suspension is all modified and the steering
column is fairly new, I'd like to keep the sense of style of my 55 2nd GMC.
I really don't like the idea of sticking one of those flashing disco light
ultra hi-tech units in my dashboard. (Sort of like Marilyn Monroe getting
her nose pierced, huh?) Then again, I don't want to wreck my baby while
trying to get to the stereo in the glove box. Hmmm.

The current original radio doesn't work, but I might see about getting it
going so I can listen to Marty and Joe call the Reds while I evaluate the
tailgate chains by the tried and true oletruckers method.

Any suggestions? Is there a stereo company out there that has a sense of
style (digs chrome)? What's this about a converted original radio?

and negative ground, installing a stereo is not difficult. i would beware of
"professionals". Do it yourself, and the members of this list will help out
every step of the way.

few weeks. It has worked well in my '51 GMC for the past 5 years.originall
cost about $250, will sell for $100. I am putting a converted original radio
back in the truck. If you or anyone else on the list is interested please
E-mail me off-list.
