Vince -
I don't know about the safety factor but we had one in our shop for
years. It was a standard "barbeque" all purpose propane tank fitted out
with an air pressure gauge and std. tire air stem with about 3ft of
hose. It was used for filling flat or low tires. It would hold 75 - 85
psi almost indefinitely until needed.

You guys seem to be the most knowledgeable bunch I've
talked to on the subject of air compressors.....
I've got a little round propane tank like the one you
use for a barbeque....but I've no barbeque or time to
fool with one. But I was wondering if there is some
reason why one can't use a small propane tank as a
small portable air tank if it's equipped with the
right gauges, etc?
Thanks,
vince
