Thanks for all the great replies to my VIN # question, a few days ago.
My ID number is H55O001517. Now I know that the
H=3100
55+Year made
O=Oakland assembly plant
001517=516 in the series.
Here's my new question. Is the Oakland assembly plant still being used?
Was it just a pickup plant, Or was it for all trucks?
When the number tells us that this is the 516th in the series, does this
mean the H or 3100 series, of any trucks made in this plant, all trucks or
all Chevy vehicles for the year in all plants?
When I was in high school, our shop class went to a Mustang plant. All they
made in the plant that we saw was coupes. No convertibles or fastbacks.
Were the Chevy truck plants that specific?
This stuff is all triovia I guess, but I'm really curious.
Thanks in advance for all the info i know you guys have. This list is
GREAT!
