Morning Oletruckers,
I am looking for some advice on a replacement drive line and rear end for my
52 GMC long bed. I rebuilt the original 248 and have found that it is
working way too hard at 60 miles per hour. Since I don't intend to do any
towing with the truck I am looking for a ratio that will get freeway speed of
60 - 65 without working the new engine so hard.
Additionally, with that type of speed would it be a good idea to go to disc
brakes on the front? If so is there a straight forward way of accomplishing
this?
I've been on the list for about 4 wks and have enjoyed reading the questions
and replys. I wish I had known about you folks 5 years ago when I started on
my old truck.
Thanks for the help!
