YOu need tight fitting wheels.  Some trucks took 9/16 lugs, which would be 
the 1.5 ton axles, and others took 5/8" studs which was 2 ton rating.  ( you 
may find exceptions to this for later AD trucks). The wheels are centered by 
the hub. so that has to fit snug.  Any wheels that take conical lug nuts, 
like cars and little trucks, center on the lugs, so center hole is not 
important.  wheels are either hub centered or lug centered.  all out chevy 
dual wheels  are hub centered.

I think Jim Carter has all the lock rings for sale.  there are a total of 4 
sizes.  Smallest for friction on links, second for link pivots, third bigger 
for trans 3 speed pivot on bell hsng, and biggest for big truck brake pivots.
