I've done this. It isn't hard once you get the knack. The full procedure
is in the service manual, page 1-9 and 1-10.

1. Remove the mohairs on both sides on the bottom of the glass. They can
be popped out with a screwdriver by gently prying them towards the glass.
This is best done with the window all the way down. Try not to let them
fall into the door.

2. Remove the trim and knobs inside the truck.

3. Remove the inside plate around the window opening. There should be two
phillips screws and it will come right off.

4. Remove the four very small hidden phillips screws holding the vent
window frame in place.

5. Remove the two round head phillips screws on the inner door panel that
hold the window channel in place.

6. Pry the top of the window channel out to the inside of the truck (the
vent window will come with it) and lift it up about 2 inches.

7. Put the window about half way up, so that you can see the two clutch
head screws on the base of it.

8. Remove the two clutch head screws on the roller rail at the bottom of
the window. I was able to find a flat bladed screwdriver that fit the
clutch heads.

9. Pull the window out of the door.

10. Secure or remove the roller rail before it falls into the door. Please
note that it goes in only one way.

Reverse the procedure to get the glass back in.

Took me about 2 hours for the first one, about 45 minutes after that.

The door windows on my 57 are cracked. I need to remove them for
replacement, but I can't seem to figure how to do it without breaking
something. Any tricks out there to share?
