Steve, to remove the water valve, just turn it 90º and it will pass right
through the firewall hole. Oh yeah, the heater hoses must be off, first.As
for the cable, you can soak it in a pan of solvent or even just spray it
with wd40 with a shop towel behind it ti catch the overspray. The cables
bracket is attached by a 3/8ths nut. An ignition wrench works well and so
does a ¼" ratchet. The switch is a touchy thing. You must be VERY carefull
when you bend the tabs back to open the case up. That is usually the most
difficult part of the repair. Be carefull not to spill parts from inside the
switch. The contacts can be cleaned up with an ink eraser from an ink pen.
Many times the contacts are just pitted. i have 2 different switches from a
deluxe heater. one is a 2 speed flip switch and the other is a rotory one. i
dont know if either is stock or a replacement.
