I sent this out once before and I got one reply but in
back and forth communications I mentioned that I didn't want the
person to go too far out of his way and then he didn't answer me
anymore. Sooooo... I have sent it out again as a reminder as the
better weather is upon us and recent messages have reminded me about
others visiting the grave yards of old iron, I figured maybe someone
is cleaning out or planning a visit to one of these places... I
really need to go out there once again to revive old memories,
however most of the better places have been picked over too well... I
recently went to find a harmonic balancer because mine had cracked
and was directed to the old engine pile which turned out to be a
large pile of foreign carcasses all aluminium with very few
american/chevy engines at all... But I spent an hour picking thru
the pile in hopes that I might find the one discarded balancer that
would fit all to no avail... It still brought back memories. I
visited several yards that day...By chance I did find one thru a
relative that knew exactly which one I wanted and found it in the
back lot in a abandoned trailer in a basket of balancers he placed
there ten or so years ago.. Its amazing what people have stored and
still remember they have it never mind finding where they stored it.
