Only thing you have to match is the voice coil impedance - it will be either
3 ohms (older radios) or 8 ohms (newer models); most likely, the speaker
from the 12V radio will work. The operating voltage of the radio has nothing
to do with the speaker.
Also be sure the 1946 radio did not require an electrodynamic speaker, which
uses an electromagnet (field coil) instead of a permanent magnet; in which
case you cannot use a modern speaker unless modifications are made to the
radio.
