1. If it has the original engine, it is a full pressure insert bearing engine.
2. GMC engine numbers are stamped on the distributor pad - first 3 digits are
the engine displacement (228, 248, 270 etc).
3. The Zenith was used on most GMC's. It's an OK carburetor.
4. Bypass filter; elements are available from all the usual sources.
"Loadmaster" was a Chevy truck engine designation - not used on GMC's to my
knowledge. Does this appear on the truck anywhere? What is model number (on
driver side door post)?
Congratulations on your new/old truck!

Subject: [oletrucks] 1952 GMC Loadmaster
Just bought it. Great shape.
1) Will it have babbit bearings?
2) What engine will it have, it's a strait 6.
3) The zenith carb cleaned up well, i'm planning on useing it, unless
another would be better?
4) It has what i think is a stock oil filter, are replacement filters
availible? It's the size of a tomatoe juice cam, has a bail on the
top. Sound familier?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
