I've been driving my '50 model with only a rear '50 plate since I lost the
front one about a year ago. I assume it's hanging up on a wall somewhere.
So far, like another list member, I have only had police officers tell me
what a cool truck I have. I thank them and go on my way, knowing that in
Texas, you really are supposed to have a front plate too.
My father-in-law, however, who drives a very nice classic, was stopped at a
red light recently, when a police officer asked him, "What year is it?"
He replied, "It's 2000, you idiot!"
The officer just laughed. I fear that if I had done that, I'd be calling
home for bail money.
