You should not acid dip anything unless you don't mind if it disappears...and I'd hate to see any old Chevy truck parts disappear thru carelessness! I use chrome polish to clean chrome and stainless parts. I have an old can of Turtlewax chrome polish from an automotive chain store, and the stuff works well. It does take some elbow grease. It will also remove paint if you need to...but if the part has paint that you want to save, be sure NOT to apply this polish to the paint!
