I probably could have expressed myself more clearly in making my
suggestion that we might profit by trimming our quotes to the relevant
portions. It is often helpful to use a quotation, but rarely do we need the
whole of a previous post, or worse the whole thread quoted back for the last
week or so.
My suggestion is in no way intended as criticism of any individual, hence
the use of made up examples rather than actual posts. By all means, do what
you need to do, but some of us may be thoughtlessly quoting all, not
realizing that brevity might improve a post.
Of all the lists I am on, this is the most polite and good natured,
unless maybe we have drifted on to socialized medicine or Bill Clinton, may
God forbid! We all deserve a pat on the back for that politeness.
