Don,
I am no 292 expert, but I paid $400.00 for the one I have and I'll bet it has
more miles on it than the one you have.
I would love to take it off your hands, but with adding on to my house and all.
I could not even scratch up the money for shipping.

Hey everyone,
Helped a friend put a 283 in his '77 chev PU. The 283 replaced the original
292 I-6 which he's given me. The engine runs excellent, doesn't smoke at all,
has excellant oil pressure, new distributor, and the only problem is that
carb needs rebuilt. I will be looking at the trucks odometer tomarrow, but I
think the truck only has about 60K miles on it.
My # 1 question is: What's this engine worth? I understand that it would be a
hard sell because there's no way to hear it run, but what would be a
conservative $$$ figure to shoot for?
Also, will this engine fit in a '63 Chev Nova? May have it sold already if it
will! And don't tell me how rediculous it was to replace this I-6 with the
283!
Thanks so much,
Dustin
