Delco jacks and stands. . .???. . .news to me. Sounds too cheap too.
Jack stands--make sure that they are stout cast/forged with a large base
area; you would only need to have two to start but probably ultimately want
to get four. The more substantial, the better.
Absolutely stay away from the cheapie jack stands that are made of stamped
steel; they tend to be tall and narrow and can cut into asphalt and are easy
to tip off upright position. Years ago I was under my 66 Corvair (rear
engine) working on rear suspension stuff with the jack stands up high and
putting too much sideways torque on components and I knocked the jack stands
about 45 degrees off vertical before I caught it. It's amazing what
adrenalin can do in an emergency. If it had been a much heavier old truck
though, I would've been dead; I was working on it by myself. I threw those
jack stands out as soon as I got the car back on the ground and bought some
good solid stands.

I was at MVP parts store and saw a 2 and 1/4 ton jack with 14" clearance for
$30.00 - I think it was made by Delco. It also came is a plastic carrying
case for storage. They also had Delco jack stands for $12 for the pair.
Any ideas????
