The kickdown is a vacuum line on the right side of the trans. Look at the pan,
does it look kinda square with a corner cut off? thats a 350 , does the pan look
like noah's ark? thats a 400. why go with a 350 when you can go with a 700r4 
that
has an overdrive in it? the male pluf, a wire i presume, is for the torque
converter switch. you then have a th350c  new mexico jim. as soon as i get a
digital camera, i will be making a page about putting overdrives in old trucks.
there are only a few steps that are critical to a long trans life in an old
truck. i will also cover the T5 five  sp. from camaros and s10 trucks as well as
putting WC (world class) parts from a mustang T5 to make it live behind serious
motors.
