Terry,
I had just battled a problem similar to yours but a 95 Chevy Z71. My oil
pressure started reading 60-70 as soon as the truck started and max out at
80 going down the road. Pulled the oil pressure sending unit to find that my
truck started at 55-60 and when it is first started and drops to 35-40
idling jumping back up to 50-60 cruising. You may have a bad sending until
that cost me about ten bucks. but was hard to get at behind the distributor.
Hope this will give you another road to travel if you have used have reached
a dead end.
