[oletrucks] Shortening steering column

Just got my seat re-upholstered, and it looks great in the '56.  However,
now that it has all this new padding, my wife and I both feel that it pushes
us up a little close to the steering wheel for comfort, even with seat
belts.  Anyone ever shortened a steering column?
