I have a '53 3100. Someone has obviously already "tweaked" the bed because I have only 4 boards, but there are bolts (not the metal strips) for 8. I recently put a hole in it carrying a F@#d engine. Question: Is it possible to replace the boards with thicker ones? such as tongue and groove 2x6's? Yeah, I know, ANYTHING is possible, but is it a slam dunk or a lot of work? Has anyone ever done it?
