Jeff,
Cutting out the seat riser is a common mistake. it is a structural
member of the cab and without it, the floor will "tin-can" As the PO
probably realized after (or while) installing the bucket seats. Thus the 1X4
"bracing". Weld in a piece of 1 x 4 square steel tube from underneath to
restore stiffness to the floor.
Best way to mock up the new seating is trial and error using blocks of
wood, until the seating position feels comfortable, then build support
frames out of square tubing,
Same for the column position. Every "body" is different.
