Remember, the core is steel, therefore the crack is mostly cosmetic and can
be touched up with steering wheel epoxy (from Eastwood, Chevy Duty, Jim
Carter's, etc.). Careful sanding and finishing will be required as the
epoxy is harder than the original steering wheel stock. Follow with
thorough cleaning (50 years of crud build up plays heck on new paint) and
painting. It will look as good as new!!! (now would be a fine time to
paint the steering column the same, matching color). If your SW is cracked
at the steel portion of the hub, I suggest a swap meet for a
replacement.....
