I would not know about this, But terry might as he has done it...
The rear end gear ratio is something you would have to determine if
you use any set up. the pontiac/camaro of the 82 series had several
ratios available depending on engine size and transmission
application. The rear end width is also important so you would want
to measure your stock one and see if the replacement one is close to
the same.. The bolt pattern is another consideration as the Gm unit
we're discussing is only 5 bolt and the 3100 is 6 bolt...these rear
ends are designed for cars and will not take excessive loading
without changing the axles to heavy duty or racing ones.
Anyone out there want to take a crack at this also? Remember ping him
