I've installed a after market sway bar in my stock front end. It does a
great job of controlling body roll or leaning on turns. I does nothing to help
bump steer or darting.
After reading different descriptions of bump steer I realize that a
problem I corrected with radials was more what Wayne called darting. Even after
rebuilding everything in the front end and aligning I never knew which way the
truck was going to go on bumpy terrain. I met oncoming traffic with some
apprehension -always ready to do some corrective steering. This totally went
away with radials.
BTW while I don't know if TF trucks are set up the same, on AD trucks if
the spring mounting pin opposite the shackle hasn't been replaced I would bet
money it's worn. I've seen many worn down to half the original thickness. It's
not obvious until disassembly.
