I have four S-10 T-5's I have picked up at swaps. None I've seen bolt in at an
angle although there are many variants of the T-5. I have put 10 K on my truck
now with the 235 and T-5 and find it a nice cruiser and has held up so far. The
S-10 first gear however is very short at 4.08 or 3.76 and I start out in 2nd and
drive it like a 3 speed with OD and use 1st for steep direveways or off road. I
beleive Rob is asking about specifics on different ratios to use other than the
S-10 ratios which would be more favoralble to racing. I know you can put V-8
gears in the S-10 trans or use a tailshaft from an S-10 on a V-8 trans but don't
know specifics of which tanny to ask for for a specific ratio. I know some V-8
T-5's came with 2.9? first gear.

Jack Geary is listed as tech advisor in Pickups and Panels in Print and I asked
him a couple years back about OD's in Task Force Trucks. He told me that they
were an option and can be identified by the two lower mounting holes being
threaded. A car OD can be used by using bolts and nuts with no problem.
Along the subject of this thread I see an ad at Stovelbolt Engine Co for a NP 4
speed from a 81 GMC that bolts in the same is the Saginaw. The seller says 4th
gear is OD. Anyone familiar with these?
