When I get good service from a vendor, I like to tell
people on the list about it.
Several years ago I purchased a 12V wiper conversion kit
from Patricks Antique Cars & Trucks of Casa Grande, AZ.
This kit is made by New Port Engineering and is
advertised in Street Rodder and all of the Classic Truck
magazines. About a year after installation,
the "Intermittent Delay" feature went haywire. Patrick's
replaced it, no questions asked. All was fine until a
couple of months ago, when the same thing happened.Even
though the unit was long out of warranty, I called
Patrick, who put me in touch with Bob at New Port. Bob
asked me to send him the switch. He called after
checking it out, and asked that I send him the motor, as
the switch had tested out OK.
Yesterday I received a completely repaired switch and
motor assembly at no charge. A call to New Port
determined that a contact in the motor had gone bad.
This kind of service shows why vendors like Patrick's
and New Port are the kind of folks that stand behind
their products and know how to keep customers happy -
the old-fashioned way. They may not always have the
lowest initial price, but they do much more than just
sell parts. People like this deserve our support.
