My speedometer is way off because I changed to a 3:55 to 1 rear end.
Looking thru an old (10 yrs old!) catalog from Speedway Motors in
Nebraska, showed an adapter called a "Speed-o-cal". It was an adapter
that when between the tranny and the speedo cable that could be
re-calibrated for bigger tires, different rear end ratios, etc.
Speedway said they quit selling them in 1994. Has anyone ever heard of
such an adapter? I know I can get new 'drive & driven' speedometer
gears, but I'm trying to put off getting "into" the tranny until I have
to. Anybody got info on something like this......or other
suggestions? Thanks!
