Just a note to give an update on some progress with my 58 GMC Fleetside. I
was able to talk with the p/o lastnight and found out that the engine is a
race ready unit that came out of a friends race car (no wonder it has so much
power and don't hesatate to go to 5000 rpm). I went shoping saturday and found
a stock bench seat a Harrison stock type radiator in exelent condition and a
hood latch. The seat has a fairly new cover and I am now riding arround on a
nice and comfortable stock seat. The truck that the parts came from has a GMC
inline six in it with a truck four speed.
On a different subject
the AD cab with the dent above the drivers head Dent Busters has some very
interesting and usefull pick-bars that can be used to slip between the outer
and inner skin to work the dent out. also a scratch awl can be used to poke
holes in the inner liner and carefully push aganinst the outer skin to work
the dent out. Then the holes can easily be filled. These are some of the
methods we used on the repair line at GM on the assembly line.
