The truck big block engines all used oval port heads, although shortly
after 1974 they switched to "peanut port" heads on the 454s. The peanut
ports are smaller (not as tall) than oval ports. The huge rectangular
port heads were used only on high-performance big blocks in cars, such
as the 375 hp 396, 425+ hp 427, and 425+ hp 454.
Yes, big blocks are relevant to "oletrucks"; I wouldn't have a TF truck
without one! :)
