The Suburban I saw the original backup lights on was a 57, but they had
swapped in a late model automatic so the switch was not an issue.

I stand corrected on this. It's in my 57 Accessories Installation Manual. I
have never seen this on a 4 speed in the field. Must be rare as hen's teeth.
do any list members have AD or TF back up lamps?
Checking 1954 and 55 first "Specifications", this is not on the Accessories
page, but is included in 1956. 55 second Specs has msissing pages. It
looks like truck back up lamps were introduced in late 55 or 56.
