I appreciate the response on the alignment of the pulleys, but I must not be
looking at  it the same way as you are.  I have "added" 1" of shims to the
back
of the alternator bracket and still do not have the correct alignment with
the pulleys on the water pump and the harmonic balancer??  If I have the
wrong water pump, does this mean I have the wrong harmonic pulley also??  I
am driving a power steering unit with the pulleys and everything else seems
to line up perfectly.
