I also wondered about the 215 used in the Olds Starfire, Buick Skylark and
even a few in Pontiacs apparently, almost sent a email to the list suggesting
it, then decided that parts might be too scarce and remembered corrosion
problems, so thought I would check up on it first with the Corvair list I'm
on (they (we?) are into all sorts of weird GM powerplants, I figured they
would be up on it and they were). This engine was also licensed to Rover who
has carried on development and still uses it, now up to 4.9 liters in the
same basic block size. . .how they did that, I don't know.
It turns out that rebuild and performance parts are still available; people
are retrofitting them into old MG's and many other vehicles. And there are
shops in the US that specialize in them. I'm still collecting info, but will
post to the list when I get everything in.

I had a 1963 Buick Skylark with an aluminum block 215 ci v8. It was
definitely
small and unbelievably light weight. I have no idea of its dimentions but
with
a 4bbl it ran great.
