I have a good running 261 in my 59 suburban, but it only runs well for
about six miles before the plugs foul out with dry black furry soot. There
is no belching of black smoke. I seem to have a strong spark, so the carb is
the best bet. There is no tag on my carb, so a rebuild is unlikely. One
fellow suggested a carter YF , but another said to stick on a holley one
barrel. Does someone who upgraded to dual carbs or something have any help
for me in the form of a good working carb?
