235s don't have timing chains. Stock fiber cam gears that are decades old can
shear gear teeth from decay. If this is the case, better call a dentist and
replace the gear. Turning the motor by hand will verify this symptom. I
concur with another reply that you may have a ruptured fuel pump and that could
prevent the motor from running. The old pump can be easily overhauled
(especially if a dual action) or a new one purchased at your local auto parts
