I have a 270 out of my 59 GMC that the P/O claims knocks pretty bad after
warming up. This engine has been rebuilt with supposedly only 50 miles
before starting this knocking. My father-in-law and I have taken the bottom
half apart with no luck finding the problem. A farmer down the road wants
to trade a 327 with 202 Camel Hump heads straight across. The 327 is in
need of a rebuild and we have no idea what the 270 will need. I am rather
eager to jump on this trade however the farmer wants to hear it run. This
means I need to find a place where I can buy the oil pan gasket and front
and rear seals.
Does anybody know where I can find these? I also need to find any info on
how to remove and install door glass with a vent window. I was trying to
take good glass from one door to place into another door and it was a
disaster. Broken window and now pieces that I have know idea how to put
back in with glass. I need HELP BAD. I realize that this is going to be a
learning process but when it cost me more money because of stupidity it
becomes very frustrating. Any helpful info or Internet articles that I may
reference would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time and help,
Christian
