This weekend while touring with one of the old car groups in the
Julian area in the mountains east of San Diego, I spotted a single headlight
(55/56/57?) TF 4wd dual rear wheel flatbed GMC sitting unattended and unloved
at the Menghini Winery in an area reserved for worn-out equipment. The body
looked straight, and the truck looked complete enough that it might even be
operational. The lady working at counter in the winery said it ran some time
ago. She did not know any more about it. The Menghini Winery is old car
friendly, offering their BBQ facilities free of charge for car club meets. A
rod club was using them Sunday. They may be reached at (760) 765-2072.
